Rosehip (Rosa moschata) is a shrub that grows in regions with cold and rainy climates, in plains and low mountains, especially in Chile, Peru and Argentina.
Although the morphological characteristics of the plants are similar in these countries, the oil content of the Chilean variety is higher, as is its content of unsaturated fatty acids, which are responsible for skin regeneration.
The stems and branches of this shrub have hard thorns and its flowers are white and pink.
Rosehip oil is obtained by pressing the seeds of the flower fruits. It contains all the essential fatty acids, significant levels of linoleic and alpha-linoleic acid, carotene, flavonoids and Vitamin C.
