Operating since 1775, the House of Houbigant is the only fragrance house that has existed through four centuries of history.
Through these centuries, the perfumers of the House of Houbigant have made groundbreaking discoveries in the formulation of perfumes that have revolutionized forever the way perfumes are constructed. It is not an exaggeration to say that, without the House of Houbigant, modern perfumery as we know it today would not exist.
It all began with just a basket of flowers. One day in Paris in 1775, a young man, Jean-Francois Houbigant, hung a hand painted sign of a basket of flowers over his little shop in rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré. From the start his fragrances found favour with royalty and the nobility. Houbigant taught the titled women at the Court of Versailles how to perfume their fans so that just a fragrant flutter would send out a romantic message.

It is a timeless perfume, which retains the classic French style, but clearer, more legible, more subtle and that gives pride, as in the past, to the materials; the flowers, the woods, more than to the concept.

Top Notes: While the exact notes aren't specified, based on the description of a "soft floral" and the emphasis on natural ingredients, we can expect delicate, fresh florals. Potentially citrus blossoms like neroli or petitgrain, combined with green nuances like galbanum or hyacinth, to provide a sparkling opening.
Heart Notes: This is where the "classic French style" likely shines through, with a bouquet of refined florals. Rose and jasmine are probable key players, perhaps alongside other classic blossoms like lily of the valley, tuberose, or iris. The emphasis on "clearer, more legible" suggests a focus on the natural beauty of these florals, avoiding overly complex or synthetic accords.
Base Notes: Given the mention of "woods" and the intent to highlight raw materials, the base likely features a blend of precious woods like sandalwood and cedarwood, adding warmth and depth. Musk and ambergris could provide a soft, lingering sensuality, ensuring the fragrance's longevity and enhancing the natural floral notes without overpowering them. The overall effect is expected to be elegant, timeless, and subtly captivating.
