How to Use: 1. Connect the balloon to the Otovent nozzle. 2. Hold the nozzle firmly against one nostril, closing the other nostril with a finger. 3. Take a deep breath and close your mouth. 4. Try to inflate the balloon by blowing air through your nose. You should feel or hear a "pop" in your ear, indicating successful ventilation. If the balloon does not inflate, try again. 5. Repeat the process with the other nostril. For children who have difficulty blowing up the balloon, the Politzer method can be used: While the child swallows a sip of water, the caregiver blows into the nostril connected to the Otovent. This requires coordination and may need practice.
Recommended Frequency: Use 2-3 times daily, performing the exercise on each nostril each time. Continue treatment for 2-3 weeks, or as directed by your doctor.
Additional Tips: Ensure a proper seal between the nozzle and the nostril to prevent air leakage.
If you experience any pain or discomfort, stop using the device and consult your doctor.
Supervise children during use to ensure they are performing the exercise correctly.
The "pop" sound may not always be audible, but a feeling of pressure change in the ear is a good indicator of successful ventilation.
