2. Apply a generous amount of Clearé Institute Violet Shampoo to your palms.
3. Massage the shampoo into your scalp and hair, ensuring even distribution. 4. Focus on areas with unwanted yellow tones. 5. Leave the shampoo on for 2-5 minutes depending on the desired intensity of toning. For a more subtle toning effect, leave on for a shorter time. For a more intense toning effect, leave on for the full 5 minutes.
6. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water until the water runs clear. 7. Follow with your preferred conditioner.
Recommended Frequency: Use 1-2 times per week, or as needed to maintain desired tone and neutralize brassiness. Adjust frequency based on your hair's individual needs and the level of toning required. Overuse can lead to overly purple tones, so start with less frequent applications and increase as needed.
Additional Tips: For best results, use lukewarm water throughout the process. Hot water can strip hair color and dry out hair. For very porous or damaged hair, consider a shorter application time to avoid over-toning. Always perform a strand test on a small, hidden section of hair before applying to the entire head to gauge the toning effect and ensure you achieve the desired result. Using gloves is recommended to avoid staining your hands, especially if your hair is highly porous or if you have any cuts or abrasions on your hands. If you notice any unwanted purple hues, wash your hair with a clarifying shampoo to help remove excess pigment.
