For wet hair: After applying conditioner or hair mask, gently begin detangling from the ends of your hair, working your way up towards the roots. For dry hair: Detangle in sections, again starting from the ends and moving upwards. 3. Use short, gentle strokes to avoid pulling or breakage. 4.
