Conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) is an omega-6 fatty acid and is commonly found in dairy and beef fat. The amount of CLA normally obtained from the diet is much lower than that provided by dietary supplements.
Fatty acids are lipids, which is the general term for dietary fat. The body makes different fatty acids, but those that it cannot produce in adequate quantities must be obtained from the diet (essential fatty acids).
