Arkopharma Hawthorn 84 Capsules

Description:
Traditional nutritional supplement based on plants to relieve nervousness with exaggerated perception of heartbeats (palpitations) and in case of difficulty sleeping, based exclusively on its traditional use.
Composition:
- Per capsule: 350 mg of cryomilled flowering tops of Crataegus monogyna Jacq. (Lindm.) and C. laevigata (Poiret) D.C. (C. oxyacanthoides Thuill.) (Hawthorn).

Instructions for use:
Dosage:- Adults, oral: * Nervousness: 1 capsule, 3 times a day.* Insomnia: 2 capsules in the middle of the afternoon and another two before going to bed. The duration of treatment is 4 weeks. If symptoms persist or worsen after 2 weeks, it is recommended to consult a doctor and/or pharmacist.- Children and adolescents under 18 years of age, oral: Safety and efficacy have not been evaluated.

PRECAUTIONS
- [HEART DISEASE]. It is recommended to use hawthorn in heart conditions only under medical prescription since it can mask the symptoms of serious cardiovascular conditions, delaying their diagnosis. It should also be taken into account that it could present interactions with digoxin and beta-adrenergic blockers, used as the treatment of choice in heart failure.- [HYPOTENSION]. Hawthorn could sometimes cause hypotension, so it is advisable to periodically monitor blood pressure. In case of symptomatic hypotension, it may be necessary to reduce the dosage.
ADVERSE REACTIONS
No adverse reactions have been described at the recommended therapeutic doses.
OVERDOSE
Symptoms: There is no clinical experience with hawthorn overdose, although an increase in adverse reactions is expected.Treatment: Symptomatic treatment should be given.In the event of overdose or accidental ingestion, go to a medical centre or consult the Toxicology Information Service, indicating the product and the amount ingested.
INTERACTIONS
- Alcohol. Alcohol may enhance the sedative effects of hawthorn. As a general recommendation, it is advisable to avoid the consumption of alcoholic beverages in people treated with sedative substances.- Antihypertensives. Hawthorn may increase the risk of symptomatic hypotension when combined with these drugs. Extreme caution is recommended, monitoring blood pressure levels.- Digoxin. Hawthorn may enhance the effects of digitalis. It is recommended to avoid the combination.- Hypnotics. Hawthorn may enhance the effects of other sedative-hypnotic drugs, such as benzodiazepines, opioid analgesics or H1 antihistamines.
BREASTFEEDING
It is unknown whether the components of hawthorn are excreted in breast milk, and the possible consequences this could have for the infant. It is advisable to stop breastfeeding or avoid its use during breastfeeding.
CHILDREN
The safety and efficacy in children and adolescents under 18 years of age have not been evaluated, so it is recommended to avoid its use.
