The constant search for qualitative raw materials is crucial for the achievement of a great result. The same formula performed with materials coming from different suppliers will sort out a different olfactory profile.
My perfumes are conceived in my laboratory in Amsterdam. When the formula is ready, I can finally order the raw materials in order to mix them.
The resulting concentrate is then sent out to an artisanal atelier in Italy which put it in alcohol, let it age, and then take care of packing it.
The creation of a perfume is a very long and complex process, and it takes me a hermit life to devise a formula which I then blend, holding my breath at every drop I add as in a sacred ritual.
At those ecstatic and silent moments, I feel like an alchemist which – through a transformation – gives birth to something new, which is not the simple addition of different materials.
After I graduated in History of Art in Florence, my passion for perfume making started, by a book on natural perfumery and a handful of essential oils. Since then, I’ve been studying and experimenting on my own. I have resided in many cities – Florence, Berlin, Luxembourg, Amsterdam – while working in art book publishing.
Once in Amsterdam – where I currently live – I decided to quit my previous job and launch my own line of perfumes.

Olfactory Notes
Ingredients
Byzantine Amber is an intense and decadent perfume, like a great civilization in the final phase of its splendour.
Salome by Gustave Moreau is a painting that can evoke the splendour and drama of this olfactory work in images.
The beautiful mosaics of the Byzantine civilization, such as those of Ravenna, have gleaming gold tesserae which are imperfect for being worn out over time. This sense of theatrical and luminous splendour accompanied by a dark and obscure side inspired Byzantine Amber.
The geranium – pulpy, rosy, spicy, slightly green, contrasts with the dry minerality of the ambergris and styrax.
The backbones of this work is a familiar structure, an ambery accord enriched by the spice that makes it sensual: cinnamon.
This warm and shiny accord is darkened by leathery, smokey and animal aspects, which give intensity and characterize the composition.

Top Notes: The initial impression is a vibrant burst of citrus from Bergamot, quickly warmed by the spicy sweetness of Cinnamon. This creates a luminous and inviting opening.
Heart Notes: As the top notes fade, a floral heart of Geranium emerges. Its rosy, slightly green, and spicy facets contrast beautifully with the developing base, adding a touch of pulpy freshness to the evolving warmth.
Base Notes: The foundation of Byzantine Amber is a rich and decadent ambery accord. Benzoin and Labdanum contribute a warm, resinous sweetness, while Frankincense adds a mystical, balsamic touch. The animalic depth of Ambergris intertwines with the smoky, leathery nuances of Styrax and Leather, creating a dark and sensual dry down. This complex interplay of notes evokes a sense of faded opulence and dramatic intensity.
