Attention please!
To build a good skincare routine, it is fundamental to know which kind of ingredients are you using. Some of them don’t mix as they can cause a lack of effectiveness or the combination can be excessively aggressive to your skin.
Vitamin C and alpha hydroxy acids, a.k.a. AHAs (Glycolic, Lactic, Malic, Tartaric, Citric or Mandelic acid) cannot be mixed in the same routine, as the benefits of vitamin C will be literally cancelled leading to irritation and dark spots.
Ambari Gold Profection22 Mask 30ml
Lactic Acid, a.k.a BHA (Beta Hydroxy Acids) is an active ingredient that removes dead cells. If you combine it with vitamin C, it can alter skin pH and diminish it effectiveness.
Natura Bisse C+C Vitamin Complex Serum 30ml
This combination is also not recommended as it can cause pH concerns. Vitamin C, as opposed to Niacinamide, goes well with acid pH. Therefore, these two ingredients must not be combined.
But what happens if you do mix them? The effect of their properties will be diminished and it may cause irritation or even breakouts. Nevertheless, these two active ingredients are a great choice to treat dark spots and scars when used separately.
Dr Dennis Gross Stress Rescue Super Serum 30ml
These two active ingredients are quite effective to reduce ageing sings, but they can cause irritation so they must not be used in the same routine. We recommend using Vitamin C in the morning and Retinol at night as it can make skin more sensitive to UV.
Natura Bisse Essential Shock Intense Retinol Fluid 50ml
A high risk combination for all skin types, especially sensitive skin. Both ingredients are well-known due to their exfoliant properties and if they are combined, they can be too aggressive.
Perricone Md Daily Brightening & Exfoliating Peel 59ml
These two ingredients offer a kerolytic action that helps get rid of dead cells. If you combine them, it can over exfoliate your skin causing inflammation and redness. This is a great example of a “less is more” case, given that if you use two active ingredients with the same properties can be detrimental to your skin.
