Jean-Claude Ellena, in his youth, moved to Paris, after spending time in New York and Geneva, where he honed his craft in the most prestigious laboratories. Now, at 75, he is recognized as one of the greatest perfumers of recent times.
He is known for his sparingly concentrated formulas, inspired by the simplicity of everyday life. Furthermore, he describes fragrances as: "Perfume, the story of a scent, is a poetry of memories and the creation of the spirit."
He worked exclusively for Hermès for 12 years, but has also collaborated with prominent houses such as Perris Montecarlo and Acqua Di Parma. Among his creations are Lavande Romaine and Le Jardin de Monsieur Li. You can find other fragrances of his at BeautyTheShop.
