Even though Geek & Gorgeous is a young brand, if I want to go back to our beginnings, that would be more than 15 years ago. I was 17 when I developed horrible acne. For years, I tried out a bunch of things including tons of cosmetic products, facials, and visits to the dermatologist. What eventually helped was not some miracle cure but me starting to learn about skincare and clinically proven active ingredients. After years of randomly trying things and failing, I started to obsessively read and learn. I read all the books by Paula Begoun and then went on to read the famous Cosmetic Dermatology book by Dr. Leslie Baumann. I read more and more science based skincare blogs, forums, and eventually research studies. In 2019, I completed the SCS Diploma in Cosmetic Science issued by the Society of Cosmetic Chemists in the UK.

Directions: 1. Cleanse your face thoroughly. 2. Apply a small amount of Calm Down to a cotton pad or your fingertips. 3. Gently sweep the product across your face, avoiding the eye area. 4. Allow the product to absorb fully. 5. Follow with your usual serum and moisturizer.
Recommended Frequency: Start by using Calm Down 1-2 times per week in the evening. As your skin adjusts, you can gradually increase the frequency to every other evening or even nightly, if tolerated. Pay attention to your skin's response and adjust usage accordingly.
Additional Tips: 1. Always perform a patch test before the first application to check for any sensitivities.
2. Sun sensitivity can be increased while using chemical exfoliants, so always apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher during the day, especially after using this product.
3. If you experience any irritation, reduce the frequency of use or discontinue use altogether. 4. This product can be used in conjunction with other skincare products, but avoid using other strong actives like retinoids or high concentrations of AHAs/BHAs at the same time to minimize the risk of irritation. 5. Store the product in a cool, dark place.
