Today we want to talk to you about lips, an area of the body that we sometimes mistreat and that, frankly, we rarely pay attention to ourselves. The skin on our lips is especially sensitive, and external factors like pollution, heat, cold or wind can cause our lips to not look the way we’d like.
Luckily, it’s not difficult to care for lips, and there are natural remedies and cosmetic products that will help you have 5-star lips with little effort. Of course, we recommend being consistent and performing these three steps once a week.
Are you ready for your dream lips? Then let’s get started!
The first thing to do is to exfoliate your lips. Perhaps you’ve never done this, but we guarantee that when you give it a try, you’ll love it. It’s fast, simple and economical, because you do it in the comfort of your own home!
Here are three “recipes” for exfoliating your lips at home:
- Sugar + olive oil. Mix a teaspoon of white or brown sugar with a teaspoon of olive oil. And there you have it!
- Sugar + honey. It’s the same home remedy for exfoliating your lips as above, except instead of using olive oil, you use honey. It’s another way to smoothly exfoliate your lips.
- Honey + baking soda + olive oil. Achieve a homogenous paste by mixing a teaspoon of honey with a teaspoon of baking soda and a few drops of olive oil. Then it’s ready to apply.
Apply the exfoliant that you have created gently onto your lips, carefully massaging it in. Then remove the homemade exfoliant with a little bit of warm water and continue on to the next step.
Thanks to this simple step, your lips will look so much softer. What are you waiting for? Give it a try!
After exfoliation comes hydration. It’s very important to give your lips the moisture they need, since it’s necessary for them to look smooth and plump, just like you want them to. Therefore we recommend these three super moisturizing lip glosses, which will support not only the hydration of your lips, but also provide vitamins and minerals.
Remember that although you shouldn’t exfoliate more than once per week—since it could dry out your lips—you can moisturize your lips as often as needed. There’s no limit!
As we said earlier, external factors can damage your lips, irritate them and make them lose flexibility and softness. The sun, cold and wind can dry out and even burn your lips, so it is important to keep them well-protected when you go out, whether in summer or winter! Your lips can suffer in both seasons. Protect them with a sun screen balm.
The two that we list below have a sun protection factor of 20. They are perfect for going out, but remember that if you’re going to go skiing, to the beach, etc., you need extra protection.
