Pelvic Floor Tone: The pelvic floor muscles, also known as vaginal muscles, play an important role when wearing a menstrual cup because they determine the width of the vaginal canal and are the muscles that hold the cup in place. Like any other muscle group, as we age they lose elasticity, and are often affected by pregnancy or hormonal changes. If you know you have a weaker pelvic floor, (for example, if you experience bladder leaks or have lost vaginal tone) we recommend that you use size B.

How to Use: 1. Wash your hands thoroughly. 2. Fold: Fold the Lily Cup Compact twice, forming a "C" shape. 3. Insert: Hold the folded cup firmly and gently insert it into your vagina, aiming towards your tailbone. 4. Release: Once inside, rotate the cup slightly to ensure it opens fully and creates a seal. You should not feel the cup once it is correctly positioned. 5. Removal: Wash your hands. Locate the base of the cup. Pinch the base to break the seal and gently pull the cup downwards. 6. Empty: Empty the contents into the toilet. 7. Clean: Rinse the cup thoroughly with water and a mild, unscented soap. 8. Reinsert or Store: Reinsert the cup or, if your period has ended, dry it completely and store it in its protective case.
Recommended Frequency: The Lily Cup Compact can be worn for up to 12 hours at a time. Empty and clean the cup at least twice a day, or more frequently if needed depending on your flow.
Additional Tips: Sterilization: Before your period starts, sterilize the cup by boiling it in water for 5-7 minutes. Lubrication: If you experience difficulty inserting or removing the cup, use a water-based lubricant. Finding the right position: The cup should sit completely inside the vagina, below the cervix. If you can feel the cup, it may not be positioned correctly. Try rotating it or adjusting the position slightly. Trimming the stem: If the stem is uncomfortable, you can trim it slightly, but be careful not to cut the base of the cup. Leakage: Leakage can occur if the cup is not fully open or if the seal is not properly formed. Ensure the cup is completely open and suctioned to the vaginal walls.
