Nishane Favonius is a unisex woody perfume. The myth of Favonius and Flora, the goddess of flowers, is a fascinating tale that celebrates love and transformation. The story goes that Favonius, the Roman god of the wind, fell madly in love with Flora and, wishing to conquer her, transformed himself into a rose, the goddess' favorite flower. Flora, impressed by Favonius' gesture of love, kissed the rose, thus fulfilling his wish. The term "rose" is said to have originated from a misunderstanding between Flora and Cupid: struck by the arrow of love, Flora tried to pronounce the word "Eros," but her emotion made it sound like "ros." Since then, the rose has become the symbol of love, youth and beauty in both Roman and Greek cultures. Favonius, whose name means "favorable," was known as the gentle and fruitful wind, the harbinger of spring. He was said to rule over plants and flowers, bringing with him the vitality and fruitfulness of nature at its spring awakening. The Roman poet Horace described the arrival of spring as the return of Favonius and his bright western winds, bringing rebirth and prosperity.
