The story of Akro is the story of a family—of a French dynasty that spans from the earliest days of the perfume industry in Grasse to the cutting-edge art form of today.
It all started a few years ago, when Paris-born Anaïs Cresp was living in London and navigating her place in the world. Immersed in city life, she came to realise that everyone has their own everyday addiction, the habit they can’t give up, and that these little temptations made life worth living.
As someone raised in the ancient culture of perfumery, Anaïs understood that the scents of these addictions were as important as their effect; that the aromas of coffee houses, bars, bakeries, holidays and tattoo parlours are part of the reason we keep coming back to them.
Soon, Anaïs hit on an idea: that these distinctive scents could be bottled and turned into fragrances. That perhaps, instead of the standard perfume notes, you could wear your favourite addiction on your skin.

Everyone has their own favourite sweet treat, and for Akro, it's the small, but perfectly delicious lemon cupcake—an item we just can’t resist any time we walk past a good bakery. To honour our favourite cupcakes, we created BAKE, a gourmand fragrance made up of Tart Lemon notes, followed by sweet Vanilla and rich, nutty Praline. BAKE is so good, you might not need that second cupcake after all.
