If Andy Tauer's masterpiece, L'Air du Desert Marocain evokes the open spaces of a limitless desert sky above our heads, his sequel, Au Coeur du Desert, is its heart - a center of silence that overcomes the gravity attached to the earth. Although it shares the same dry crunch of cedar and resin with its progenitor, Au Coeur is much more intimate overall, with a smooth blend that envelops rather than exalts.
Au Coeur du Desert is a luxurious extract that uses a higher concentration of the masterful ingredients that gave its soul to the original: coriander, cumin, patchouli, cedar, ambergris, and resin. To our noses, Au Coeur du Désert has a soft patchouli quality, warm woods and a larger dose of ambergris, its golden salty warmth bringing all the other notes clearly into focus. Texture-wise, Au Coeur is L'Air's dense smoky silk.
Those who love L'Air du Desert Marocain will find no clear echoes in Au Coeur du Désert, but those who found the original too dramatic will be delighted with this version constructed on a more human scale. The DNA is intact, but its light is more the glow of hazy twilight than the light of midday sunlight, while it still remains unmistakably, wonderfully, quintessentially Andy Tauer.

Top Notes: The initial impression is warm and inviting, with a subtle spiciness from Coriander and Cumin. These are quickly enveloped by the rich, earthy aroma of Patchouli.
Heart Notes: As the top notes fade, the heart of the fragrance reveals a luxurious blend of Cedarwood, adding a dry, woody depth. The prominent presence of Ambergris lends a salty, golden warmth, binding the composition together and providing a smooth, enveloping quality.
Base Notes: The long-lasting base is anchored by the warm, balsamic embrace of Resins. This combined with the lingering Ambergris and Cedarwood creates a sensual, intimate dry down that persists for hours, evoking the stillness and warmth of the desert heart.
